Here’s a look at our charitable initiatives this holiday season:
Toy Mountain 2024
This iconic Hamilton tradition is coming back for another year. Help us build a mountain of toys for children in need! Each year, Toy Mountain helps struggling families so that their children can experience the joys of unwrapping a gift during the holiday season. We’re partnering with Legend 102.9 to collect as many toys and cash donations as possible. Are you interested in getting involved? Here are the details you need to know:- When: From now until November 28, we’ll be collecting new and unwrapped toys and cash donations.
- Where: You can bring your donation to the Toy Mountain kiosk at CF Lime Ridge this holiday season.
On Thursday, November 28, Michael will join Legend 102.9 for an on-location broadcast from CF Lime Ridge, so stay tuned!
The Great Holiday Food Drive
In collaboration with Dream 105.7, NewsTalk 610 CKTB, and 97.7 HTZ-FM, we’ll be supporting the 20th Annual Great Holiday Food Drive! This fantastic initiative helps support local food banks across the region by collecting non-perishable food items and cash donations. Food banks across Niagara, Welland, St. Catharines, and beyond are feeling the pressure. With more members of our community needing support, The Great Holiday Food Drive aims to make sure everyone has a full belly during the holiday season. Are you interested in getting involved? Here are the details you need to know:- When: From November 18-December 13, we’ll be collecting non-perishable food items to donate.
- Where: The full list of donation centres can be found online here.
The Christmas Tree of Hope
Beginning all the way back in 1975, The Christmas Tree of Hope is an annual fundraising campaign to help families struggling during the holiday season. Now in its 48th year, The Christmas Tree of Hope has helped thousands of families and raised millions of dollars through The Children’s Fund. This year, you can find us at the Tree of Hope Lighting Ceremony on the first week of December at Gore Park. This is a free event open to the public with music, rides, attractions, food vendors, and of course, the annual lighting of the Christmas Tree of Hope. In addition to this, The Children’s Fund is also organizing the 17th annual Toy Truck initiative: Operation Santa Claus. We will be collecting toys at our office to donate. We’re proud to partner with Energy 95.3 and Y108 to support this great cause! To date, The Children’s Fund has donated over $6.4 million to local children’s charities throughout Hamilton-Burlington. In 2023 alone, they raised over $152,000 to help families in need during the holidays!
